Building an inner connection with self

Before we understand the process of making our YogYam practices beneficial for us, let us go deeper to understand the psychology of the mind related to our life first.

Our mind plays a great role in making choices and decisions in our life. Everyone's life is full of different challenges, but if we pay attention to the basic principles of life, there are also many similarities.
The life in reality is filled with struggles, compromises...there are hurdles, there are difficulties in anything we desire to have a comfortable living.
These struggles can be applicable to achievng peace, happiness, better health, to be successful at work / job or these struggles can be applicable to our friendships, relationships, etc. This list can go on and on.

If you take closer notice, it is comparatively easier to start something new than to maintain something you have already or recently started. It may be a relationship, marriage or even buying a new house.
It is easy to make a friend but most challenging to maintain that friendship.
The process of getting married is not that strenuous compared to maintaining the life-long relationship.
Giving birth to kids vs. raising them, the latter is a longer and challenging process.
Or, for an example, buying a new home is easy compared to the process of maintaining the home. The hardships of maintaining a home is a consistent task.

Hence, it makes clear that making a decision to start something is easy, but to maintain it is a constant struggle. Lots of courage, discipline, and consistency is required.

Similarly, when it comes to our health, starting a new practice or program is not difficult. The most difficult part is to maintain a disciplined routine to continue with the practices, even though one knows there are many beneficial reasons for our health.

But it is not easy for everyone to be strong, determined and consistent. And that is ok. This is the beauty of life. We all are struggling at different areas and stages. The best is to accept and acknowledge our deficiencies and then, step-by-step, improve over them. Even if it takes a little longer time for some of us. The important thing to remember is that one keeps a positive outlook and never lets it stop flowing to become like a pond of stagnated water. Life is like a free flowing river, carving its path to meet its destination.

If it is hard for anyone to remain consistent on the reason which motivated them to do something special for themselves, it is nothing else but the weakness of the mind.
This mind can be our friend if we keep it under our control, and it can be our biggest enemy if we lose our control over it.

There are always ways and solutions to not go astray from our path, especially from a path which is most beneficial for a good and healthy life!

Now that we understand the basic psychology of the mind, let nothing stop you from reaching your goals. We will discuss some simple solutions to get the most of your YogYam practice in the next post.
