Part 2
Have an inner conversation
Whether you have been practicing yoga and meditation for a while or you are starting new, take a moment to ask yourself a few questions.
These 3 questions are most beneficial to do a mindful introspection and also to have a deeper conversation with self.
These 3 questions are most beneficial to do a mindful introspection and also to have a deeper conversation with self.
1. Why am I doing this?
Many times we do things because we come to know from someone that YogYam practices are good for us. We then think we may as well give them a try since we see other people benefitting. It is a very positive sign to take a step into something which has been proven to be beneficial for many.
Ask yourself if this is the reason or there is any other reason. Make a note of it.

3. What would be my commitment to myself?
Majority of the time, we have time for others but rarely for our own self.
There is always a shortage of time when it comes to our welfare. Mainly with women, they spend their whole life making sacrifices for their family. Now, in modern times, along with family they are also committed to their career. So, where is the time for self-care?
We must understand that if we don't maintain our own good health, we can’t take care of anyone else wholeheartedly.

Make an effort to do some of the following for your own wellbeing:
- Make a weekly routine for your practice.
For example, I will do Yoga practice every Monday & Thursday at __am or __pm. I will do my meditation 3 times a week or daily at this time. - Add the times and days you can commit to yourself in your calendar. Even if you have to wake up half an hour early in the morning.
- Try to stay consistent with the times and check by the end of week. If you could not stay consistent, don’t feel bad or dejected, try again.
- If possible and if you have extra space for your practice in your home, keep your Yoga mat spread and open. This helps the mind to happily stay committed. If this is not possible, keep your yoga mat folded at a place which you can see easily moving around in your home. This will keep reminding you until your mind gets used to your routine.
- Think about the many positives of doing practice from the comfort of your home. You don’t have to dress up or drive down to a studio to do your class. This saves so much time which you can use for your wellbeing.
- When you practice at home, you don’t have to worry what anyone else in class is doing. Your practice is your sacred routine for your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. And the main advantage is, you don’t get to exchange your energy with anyone else.
- Most importantly, feel happy that you are committing to something and you do care about yourself.
Answering to yourself is the first step to building a deeper and intimate connection with our inner self.
Never stop the silent inner conversations with self. Inner conversations have a deeper impact on understanding our real self. They also help us to strengthen our commitment to our goals.
I wish you all the best for moving along with your YogYam Wellness Journey.
Namaste,
Vineeta
